Ooops! I went shopping!

Well pay day has arrived - why does the month always feel so long?! I've had to budget this month as I'm saving all my holiday money for Dubai so I have a spending limit! Yesterday, I went to the Parkgate Centre at Rotherham with my boyfriend's mum because I had never been before. One word - impressed! There was a brilliant range of shops and it also helped that the sales were on.

Real Techniques Blush Brush from Boots £9.99

Vest tops from Topshop 2 for £10/£6 each individually

River Island/Topshop £1.50 each

Barry M Pink Silver Glitter and Blueberry Ice Cream from Superdrug £2.99 each

L-R oval and coil ring both from Miss Selfridge £1 each and cross ring from River Island £2.50

Plum Maxi Skirt from New Look £14.99

When I got back to my boyfriend's house, I tried it on to show him and his comment was "it's too see-through and it's too poofy!"... budding Karl Lagerfeld in the making ha! It is a size 10, and I do agree with him, it is 'poofy' around the waist. But because I love it that much, I'm going to swap it for a size 8.

Now these are the bargains...

Let me amaze you. These beautiful floral patterned, cork wedge shoes cost me £3. Three. Pound. I am still in shock ha! We popped to Matalan and just by chance wandered over to the footwear section. I spotted these beauties and noticed they were down from £20 to £3. I couldn't say no. They are so comfy - it feels like I'm walking on air!

Black and tan sandals from Matalan £2 (in the sale)

With my student discount, I got both of these shoes together for £4.50. Flabbergasted. I love Matalan.

On pay day, I went into town after work and got a couple of bits that were on my July Wishlist.

Real Techniques Core Collection from Boots £21.99

Traditional Skin Care Glycerin and Rosewater from Boots £2.32

Jersey peplum from Topshop £18

So this is my start of the month haul! I really love everything that I have bought - I love savvy shopping! I'm thinking of doing a July Favourites post, would you be interested?

Have a nice week!

A little haul of everything!

I have been  purchasing a lot of beauty goodies recently - all at a fair price must I say! My Avon order came and today I went into town with my dear friend Freya, and we put the world to rights whilst on a hunt for new lipsticks! I bought some other bits and bobs too - candles and a bracelet, but all of the make-up is where it's at!

After seeing Sleek's Rose Gold blusher on Beauty and le Chic's Instagram, I just new I had to snatch it up. Luckily for me it was the last one. I love the gold shimmer undertone - I've swatched it and it is such a pretty blush. Perfect for glowy, summer cheeks.

When I read the review for this lipstick on Laura's blog, again, I couldn't wait to get down to my nearest Boots to buy Barry M's Sunset (151). She compared it to MAC's Vegas Volt, and at the minute, I'm on a high-street only spend due to insufficient funds until payday! I tried this on earlier and I am in love! Could possibly be a new favourite - wearing it to work tomorrow!

I've seen these dotted over Instagram and several blogs, and it has caused me to see what all the commotion is about. I bought it in the shade 'Lovesick' and it is a deep, fuchsia pink. It is a lip stain and I thought that it may be very drying on the lips, but my lips still feel full of moisture and so far haven't started to dry out.

Another lip product! This was an unintentional purchase as I was only going to buy the above two, but for £1.99, I couldn't really resist. The shade is 'Pink Mallow' and is quite similar to MAC's Lovelorn which is one of my faves. However, this really needs building up to get the desired look.

I have really weak nails, that peel and snap and it is so annoying! So I thought I would try all of the cheap nail strengtheners to start with and then buy OPI's Nail Envy if needs be. I'm going to use this without nail polish on top to give it the best possible attempt.

This was the contents of my Avon order: Planet Spa Hydrating Mask, Peeling and Brittleness Solver, lipstick in Pout, and 24k Gold Lipgloss in Gold. Pout lipstick is one of my favourites so this is a repeat purchase - a gorgeous, pinky nude shade that is a perfect everyday colour. The lipgloss was a freebie and to be honest, looking at the tube, I wasn't that thrilled - the colour. But you can't 'judge a book by it's cover' and well, my opinion has changed. It isn't as gold as it looks in the tube when on the lips and looks gorgeous over Pout, in the centre of the lips.

So this was a little random haul of recent beauty buys that I'm so excited to trial throughout the upcoming weeks! Which is your favourite?

Hopefully, my E.l.f order will come soon (hmph hurry!!), so expect another haul post!

July Wishlist!

1. Essie - Lapiz of Luxury, 2. Dubai!, 3ASOS Abacus Leather Chelsea Ankle Boots, 4. Real Techniques Core Collection, 5. Studio Cream Blush in Flirt, 6. Topshop - Peplum, 7. Essie - Tart Deco, 8. Dolly Bow Bow -Freya White Knuckle Ring, 9. Topshop - Neon Rose Blush, 10. I want my bedroom re-decorating!

1. Just a beautiful colour that I need in my life!
2. I went to Dubai in March this year with my boyfriend and his parents, as they have friends who live out there. We had many problems with Qatar Airways on the way home (double-booked seats, 12 hour delay, lost luggage!!) and we claimed for compensation which resulted in a flight voucher and cash. So to make good use of our voucher, me and Connor are looking to go back for a week in October - it mainly being a relaxing holiday rather than all of the hectic, sightseeing that we did last time. SO EXCITED!
3. By the looks of it we aren't going to have a summer (typical Britain!) so I've already started thinking about items for the Winter. These boots look so comfy and would go with absolutely anything.
4. After buying the Stippling Brush, it has tempted me to buy more after hearing so many brilliant reviews about this collection of brushes.
5. Well since putting this image onto Paint (last night), I have bought this in E.l.f's half price sale! So it really shouldn't be on here anymore but hey ho...
6. I absolutely adore this top! I'm thinking about getting it in grey, white and the burgundy colour too... hmm decisions!
7. I'm in 'coral mode' recently, you can probably tell from the picture! Another polish I am dying to get my hands on!
8. I follow Dolly Bow Bow on blogger/twitter/YouTube and this ring is such a beautiful, cheaper alternative to the ever so expensive YSL one.
9. What can I say? I love corals.
10. My bedroom needs an update so I'm trying to coax my dad into buying me a dressing table, and I have come up with a plan that me and Connor are going to wallpaper my room. Hm. We shall see how that goes!

Unfortunately, I don't get paid until the end of July, so I will have to wait for these goodies :( But I think they are worth waiting for!

Have a lovely weekend,

VIVO Ultimate Brow and Eye Kit review!

I have heard quite a lot of good things about this product, so the other Friday, me and my mum popped down to our local Tesco to investigate the VIVO stand. For my eyebrows, I usually use a Clinique eyeshadow and a clear MUA mascara as a brow set. Least to say, the clear mascara didn't live up to the expectations of holding them in place all day long, but for only £1, there was nothing to lose. I have quite thick brows, and they only really need filling in towards the ends as they are lighter.

This kit is classed as a 'Brow and Eye Kit' so is very multi-purpose as it can be used as eyeshadows too - it claims to 'add contour and definition to frame eyes perfectly for a professional look'. It comes with 3 matte shades: a pale sandy shade, a light brown and a dark brown. It also includes a brow gel and a small double-ended brush (which I have thrown away as they are always rubbish ha).

I use the darkest shade to softly brush through my brows with my angled Sephora Brow Brush, concentrating mainly on the ends. I find that this colour matches my natural brow colour better than the middle colour which has an orange undertone, and left my brows looking slightly ginger at the ends! The brow gel forces all of the hairs into place and they honestly don't move! It leaves quite a hard finish, but I personally don't mind it as it means that they aren't going to move throughout the day, which they don't.

For £5, you cannot go wrong with this product. I haven't used the shades as eyeshadows yet, as I prefer eyeshadows with a bit of shimmer so they aren't quite up my street!  I haven't felt the need to touch-up my brows or even check that they aren't unruly and wild because the gel sets them like concrete. I advise you to get down to your nearest Tesco's and buy this little secret weapon - you won't regret it!

What's in my make-up bag??

My make-up bag is always full to the rafters and contains many of my 'staple' products. It always includes a couple of variations (eye products especially) as I'm always on the move whether it be to college or to work and I don't have time to be swapping or changing products. My make-up bag is just a cheapie from Primark and is the perfect size to fit in any of my handbags.

Face:

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW25, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, VIVO Compact Powder in Soft Vanilla, Real Techniques Stippling Brush, and a MAC 224.

These products are the staples of my everyday make-up. I don't really tend to switch up my foundation as the Studio Fix is my summer go-to as I am more tanned.

Eyes and eyebrows:

VIVO Ultimate Brow and Eye Kit, Sephora Brow brush, VIVO Eye Liner in black, No7 Fanomenal Lashes
in black, Natural Collection Liquid Eye Lines in black and MUA Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette.

I like to keep my options open when it comes to my eye make-up as I can never make my mind up whether I fancy a winged liner look or just a simple smokey eye. I don't carry my MUA palette around with me, but it always has a place next to my make-up bag so it can be easily grabbed. If I am wearing a neutral/shimmery eyeshadow that day, it will either be one from the palette or MAC All That Glitters which I just pop in.

Cheeks:

Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer in shade 51, MUA Blusher Shade 1, 17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick, Marks and Spencer Sculpt & shade brush and a QVS blusher brush.

I usually go between the Chocolate Bronzer or Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer which has a gorgeous shimmer to it. I prefer the Bourjois bronzer for contouring and the other for  warming up my skin and giving it that sun-kissed glow. The MUA blusher was an impulse buy that only cost £1 but I cannot believe the quality of it! Brilliant pigmentation! I tend to use the highlighter on sunnier days (which are a rarity in Britain) as again it give a healthy glow to my cheekbones.

Lips:

Carmex Cherry lip balm, Estée Lauder Pure Color Crystal Lipstick in Crystal Baby and No7 Perfect Lips Pencil in 20 Nude.

I tend to go through phases of different lipsticks depending on the colour and the rest of my make-up that day, so I just pop my choice in my bag - it differs from day to day. At the minute, I'm loving Crystal Baby which is a subtle, nudey pink. If I want a little more definition around my lips I softly draw around the edges with the No7 lip pencil.

Anyway, these are my favourite products that have the joy to live in my make-up bag. Nothing really drastically changes apart from my lipstick and eye products and maybe my blusher. Also it all depends on the weather! If it's sunny then I love to have a bronze smokey eye and a glowy face, but in the winter I love rosy cheeks and dark lips.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

My 10 favourite nail polishes!

My nail polishes are my pride and joy - I am such a sucker for buying a new one every time I go shopping. I think (the last time I counted) I have 46 nail polishes but I'm sure the amount has increased since then! I love giving myself an hour or so to sit in front of the TV and paint my nails, and my choice of colour usually depends on the season, my mood or how pale/tanned I am at that moment in time... deep ha ha. But I have some favourites that I just can't help going back to, time and time again.

L-R: 1. Barry M Peach Melba, 2. Topshop Barefoot, 3. Rimmel Disco Ball, 4. Essie Cute As A Button, 5. Barry M Pure Turquoise, 6. Revlon Demure, 7. Temple Spa Nail Truffle, 8. Ciaté Purple Sherbet, 9. Models Own Utopia, 10. Barry M Raspberry.

1. This is such a perfect summery colour, looks amazing with a tan. In my opinion, I think that Barry M are such a good quality brand at an affordable price and have every colour imaginable!
2. My lovely friend bought me this for my birthday and ever since then I haven't stopped wearing it. In the bottle it looks similar to my Models Own polish (9) but after 2 coats when it is on the nail, it's almost a pale nude which makes my chubby fingers look slimmer and longer.
3. I bought this at Christmas as it was the perfect excuse for glitter. I like to use it on my ring finger as an 'accent nail' or on top of a nude sheer coat just to add some sparkle to my nails.
4. I feel as though I haven't owned this polish long enough for it to be in my favourites, but I can see what all the hype is about. It's my first Essie polish and oh, well what more can I say? Perfect sized brush, gorgeous colour which is a cross between a pinky-coral and has a nice consistency on which to build on.
5. Gorgeous summer colour that goes hand in hand with a tan. I like painting my nails this colour when I'm wearing a simple, plain dress or a casual outfit.
6. I bought this in Dubai, so the packaging is a little different, but like Peach Melba, it is such a summer shade. My only downside to it is the consistency which was too thick and you had to work really quick when applying the polish before it left streaks - I put a drop of nail varnish remover in, shook it and it soon improved.
7. Temple Spa is mainly known for it's skincare products so I was surprised when I got this for Christmas. Unless I am seriously having problems with my eyesight, there isn't a colour name anywhere on the bottle but it mentions on the back  'with diamonds & rose quartz' which makes it sound so luxurious. It looks lovely with one coat, but the 'diamond' flecks stand out so much more when another coat is added. A beaut.
8. I got this nail polish with Marie Clare magazine and I wasn't thrilled on the colour choice as all of the deep pink ones had been sold (I reeeeaally wanted it). But I didn't want to judge a book by it's cover, and I found it to become a serious fave. It takes about 3 coats, but the brush provides a thin layer which dries in a nano second.
9. This is a lilac undertoned, cool based, whitey-nude. Ha! It's a beautiful colour that looks perfect on any skin tone and again elongates fingers!
10. I love wearing this colour in the winter as it is quite a deep red/wine colour and goes perfectly with an Autumn wardrobe. Need I say anymore!?

So those are just 10 of my nail polishes and when I'm really struggling what colour to paint my nails, I usually go for one of these as a 'fail-safe'! I hope you all have a lovely week and there should be another post tomorrow *crosses fingers* depending on whether my Zara order arrives!
